First Baptist Kids

At First Baptist, we don't just provide childcare, but we strive to help parents disciple and teach their children. All of our volunteers in this ministry undergo a thorough background check and are accountable to parents and church leadership as they serve. We have several programs that help minister to families throughout the week and provide sound, biblical teaching to the youngest in our church.

“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14

Junior Church

Our Junior Church takes place at the same time as our main worship service and is led by Devan Hall, our children's ministry director. Volunteer musicians instruct two age-specific choirs that have the chance to perform during our worship services and gatherings.

They'll learn Bible stories, have a craft time and get to enjoy activities with other children their age while learning from background-checked volunteers and servants.

Childcare and Nurseries

First Baptist has a tremendous staff of teachers and volunteers who have a heart for kids and sharing Jesus with them. All of our volunteers have been trained and have completed and passed a federal background check.

How do I check in my children?

We start by gathering some basic information from you upon your first visit. You will get a numbered bracelet that you will turn in when you pick your child from their designated nursery area.

AWANA

AWANA encourages kids to know Jesus and grow in a relationship with Him. AWANA time includes Bible lessons, group time, verse memorization, worship, games, and so much fun! AWANA meets in the gymnasium at 6:45 every Wednesday evening and is open from K-4 through fifth grade.

Check in time begins at 6:40, and we will promptly start at 6:45. There is a $15 charge for a uniform as well as $15 for the book for each child. This year students will be expected to bring their books home, in order to work on verse memorization and to get sections accomplished. Small group time will be abbreviated this year, so the time will be spent checking what work has been accomplished. We cannot wait to see what the Lord is going to do this year!
